Bullet hole in bubble Ron Walker - Scout door gunner Ken Christol, Mr Barnard and Dean Blouin This is getting ready for a team outing (mission) with the minigun. Its in the revetment in the valley between 2/17th area and out D/1/1 Cav area. That's (L to R) Sgt. Pelkey getting the firing mechanism set on the gun, the pilot who I can't recognize, Sp4 Ken Christol (who got wounded later on and was sent home, later to go to flight school and come back as a helicopter pilot) and Sp4 Blouin, who flew left seat observer and could fly the chopper as well as the pilot. Here's another one you might find amusing. This tiger was killed about October 1968 by one of one of my gunners, SP4 Cipriano Rodriguez from Portland OR. He was gunner flying back to Eagle in my LOH at about sundown. They were whizzing along following a road, down on the deck, when they came up on this tiger running along the same road. The night ambushes had been loosing troops mysteriously for a couple of weeks but it stopped once this bad boy went down. Some guys went out and sling-loaded it back and one of the brass had the hide tanned and sent home. Great true story, and rare in that here's the picture to prove it!
