D 1/1 was the most rewarding assignment I had in over 20 years in the army. I will always remember each of you as a comrade in arms, but most of all as a friend that would, and often did, go anywhere and do anything for a fellow trooper. After 7 1/2 months I 1049 over to the 123rd AVN. BN. who were called "WARLORDS". I flew as a gunner on slicks for the last 4 1/2 months. The Warlords were also at Chu Lai.
