Message: Finally got my butt around to the D Troop site. Start planning your next July 1st thru 4th VHPA reunion in San Diego, CA. National and the SOCAL Chapter of the VHPA is just starting to plan the activities. Should be a large reunion...so when they open Registration and Hotel...grab it quick...Marriott is right on San Diego Harbor and only $120 a night.

Message: I was not with D Troop, nor any other unit in Vietnam, as I was given a Class 4-F Draft status. However, I had a childhood friend who served in-country with D-Troop, Thomas T. Collins, but he was killed in 1971. I have since become good friends with quite a number of Vietnam Vets, and wrote a poem to honor Tommy and the rest of you that served over there. It is written using the slang and terminology that my Vietnam Vet friends have taught to me. Go to the READY ROOM page to read my poem.

Message: Today 02/22/09 we celebrated our thirteenth get together at Fripp Island SC, hosted by Bill Bootle. The following troop members were present. LTC Mike Henry, Major Joe Carr, Capt Loren Nichols, Cw4 Bill Bootle, CW4 Bill Brooks, CW2 Tom Arner. We drank, ate food, told lies and felt young again. Eat your heartout NOTCH HEAD.

Message: Visited the Viet Nam Memorial the day after the Inauguration. The Inauguration was just awesome, just like a breath of fresh air. Visited Panel 3 & 4 West where SSGT Brooks, Pius Miller, Doc Gilbertson and LT Galloway. It's always very touching place to visit, I visit every time I get to DC. Would like to hear from the guys we served with as the "Blues".
