Message: As time marches on, the preservation of the history of D Trp 1/1 Cav carries added significance. Many stories remain untold; as the vacant cockpits of the Huey's, Loaches and Cobras take their places in the avaiation graveyard of Tucson Arizona, make the time to share your unique and signficant story of those important years. All of us as young men were placed into harms way and were forced, because of the circumstances of the day, to perform to the best of our abilities. Take pride in your service. Message: Joined unit in Texas and was SP-5 LOH Scout Platoom crew chief out of Camp Eagle with the 101st ABN until my ETS. I was platoon leader's (1st Lt. Gordon Skinner) crew chief until he was KIA in 8-68. I have beaucoup photos.

Message: I just found the sit today and will have fun writing everyone. I was a scout pilot mostly but got to fly slicks and front seat in the Cobra when I was not handeling night maintenance. later on flew for the National Guard then got to be the Commander of F Troop 116 CAV. But nothing beats having been a member of D Troop 1/1. Still have the Sabers on my Cav Hat and the D Troop pocket patch from Vietnam, Pictures and movies too. Hi to everyone!!! Write me and I will answer. Want to visit Peru, Write me and we will be glad to show you around.

Message: First served in the slick platoon in Chi Lai. Then after Typhone Hester, went to DaNang. Then with Night Hawk platoon until deros. Would like to hear from anyone in either platoon. Especially Bill Walker, Ross, Soares, Marshall, Mr. Lang and Capt. Swartz.
